The lawyer of President Jair Bolsonaro (non-party) Frederick Wasseff was chased by a man with a knife, who threatened him, as he left a restaurant on QI 11, in Largo Sul, in Brasília, last Saturday (28). According to witnesses, he would have harassed a woman in the bathroom, sparking her husband’s revolt.
In a video that circulates on social media, the man with the knife points at Wasseff and shouts: “Naughty, no shame. Attacking woman in the bathroom”. It is the husband of the allegedly harassed woman, who was restrained by restaurant customers.

The case was registered at the 10th Police Station, which is also located at QI11, in Largo Sul. In his testimony, Wasseff claimed that he was persecuted for defending Bolsonaro. “I started to be offended by a lady who doesn’t like the president. This woman leaves, comes back with her husband, and he tries to murder me with a knife in the stomach.”
On leaving the site, in an interview with the press, the lawyer denied the harassment: “It’s a 60-year-old woman, I almost died”. As if the victim’s age was an impediment to violence. A 2018 Datafolha survey shows that 11% of Brazilian women over 60 have already suffered sexual harassment on the street.
In July this year, the Health Department of the Federal District published a bulletin on cases of violence against the elderly registered in the Information System for Notifiable Diseases (Sinan). According to the data, there were 8,422 cases of violence in the state, with 273, or 3.2%, against the elderly population.
