Pediatric clinical trials were carried out during the month of June with 350 volunteers among children and adolescents.
“The results obtained among the pediatric population were superior in all immunological variants compared to the adult population aged 19 to 80 years”, detailed in a statement the State Control Center for Medicines, Equipment and Medical Devices (CEDMED).
Cuba registered 7,230 new infections by covid-19 in the last 24 hours, reflecting the new wave of the pandemic, caused by the presence of the Delta variant. In total, 696,000 patients were registered and 5,788 died by the new coronavirus, according to the Ministry of Public Health.
The Cuban government’s objective is to immunize the entire population of the island by the end of 2021 and be able to offer vaccines to tourists. Starting in November, when they expect to have 80% of the population vaccinated, the opening of borders will begin to be opened gradually.
