The apartment of former president Dilma Rousseff (PT) in the neighborhood of Ipanema, in the south of Rio de Janeiro, was broken into. Neighbors noticed on Saturday (28) that the door showed signs of forced opening.
However, the information became public this Tuesday (31), the same day that the coup d’état that removed Dilma from the presidency was confirmed by the Federal Senate five years ago.

The Civil Police registered the burglary in the 14th DP, located in Leblon. According to information disclosed by the portal G1, the police investigate the burglary and attempted theft in the apartment. The agents carried out an investigation at the scene and images from security cameras were requested to identify the perpetrator of the crime. Nothing was taken from the property.
The three-bedroom property is in an old building, located 200 meters from the beach, and has a 24-hour doorman. The apartment had belonged for decades to Dilma Jane Rousseff, mother of the former president, who died in July 2019, aged 95, in Belo Horizonte.
