CS Brasil service providers, a company outsourced by the Municipal Urban Cleaning Company (Comlurb), had a stoppage this Tuesday (24) morning in Rio de Janeiro. The protest took place from 4:00 am to 8:00 am to demand payment for workers’ unhealthy conditions.
According to the drivers, who drive the garbage trucks, there is daily contact with the material collected on the streets, which makes them entitled to the benefit paid by the city. However, the amount has not been transferred by the service provider.

According to the representative of the category, Cosme Barbosa, told the newspaper The day, the stoppage was defined in an assembly, held last Friday (20). About 150 drivers joined the protest.
“We collect waste from Rio de Janeiro and are entitled to the unhealthy work premium that the city provides, but this has not reached us. This is our claim”, he told the newspaper.
In a note sent to the press, Comlurb replied that the stoppage has already been completed and the trucks are circulating normally.
“The impact was a small delay in services in some locations, since Comlurb currently has contingency plans prepared for these specific situations”, completed the Company.
