This Wednesday (4), the senators of the Covid Parliamentary Inquiry Commission (CPI) listen to Colonel Marcelo Blanco. He was Roberto Dias’ advisor within the Ministry of Health’s Logistics Department and may be the link that links the accusation of bribery of Luiz Paulo Dominguetti, representative of the Davati Medical Supply, directly to Colonel Elcio Franco, former executive secretary of the ministry, also known for being the right arm of former Health Minister General Eduardo Pazuello.
Blanco was appointed to the position directly by Franco, without first consulting the department’s director, Roberto Dias.
According to Dias, it was precisely Blanco who took Dominguetti, to the Vasto restaurant, in Brasília Shopping, on February 25, when Dias asked Dominguetti for a bribe of US$ 1 per dose of vaccine, in the negotiation of 400 million doses of AstraZeneca’s immunizer.
Also according to Dias’ testimony, the news of the offer of 400 million doses of AstraZeneca had already reached his ears previously, directly by Colonel Marcelo Blanco, through another representative of the Davati Medical Supply in Brazil, Cristiano Alberto Carvalho.
To the senators, Blanco must explain whether or not there was a request for a bribe and how the negotiations took place. Parliamentarians also expect Blanco to explain his connection to Colonel Elcio Franco.
::Who is Elcio Franco? Colonel returns to the center of allegations of corruption in the purchase of vaccines::
After the accusations, on June 30 this year, the Ministry of Health exonerated Marcelo Blanco, as it did with Roberto Dias.
