At a meeting of the party’s national executive, the PSDB unanimously decided to publicly position itself in opposition to the government of Jair Bolsonaro.
“The party repudiates the anti-democratic, truculent and irresponsible attitudes adopted by the President of the Republic in demonstrations for Independence Day,” says a statement released this Wednesday afternoon (8).
The decision of the national executive will now be discussed with the party’s benches in the Chamber and in the Senate.

“We call on all the forces of the democratic center to form a front in opposition to the government of Jair Bolsonaro”, the text reads.
“Enough nonsense. Brazilians expect from their ruler solutions to the pandemic, which is bordering on 600,000 deaths; to unemployment, which victimizes 14 million people; to inflation, which borders on double digits; to economic paralysis; to inequality; for the water crisis and for the fiscal debacle. A president who knows how to face social and economic disruption instead of trying to face the law itself.”
